j: technically, you can go up to 699 wide now that we have better hosting and larger displays are more common. so feel free to post images less than 700 wide. however, in your case, i would recommend saving them at a lower resolution/quality... since web images show up universally at 72 dpi anyway, and smaller file-sizes = quicker load-times ;)
