Back in the day Truman Capote would shout 'Thar she blows' when this view came up on the ride in from the airport...

I really really like the way this is composed. Horizontally scattered, tall-short-tall-short-tall.

That's Laurel Hill you were standing on, Peter. Here's what it used to look like, pre calvary

great picture. from a historical point of view, i love this one. i'm a big history buff, and sometimes like to wander through a cemetery, reading the headstones. in philadelphia, on the northeast side, there is a cemetery next to a church, and there is a man buried in that cemetery who served as a rear admiral in the navy, under president lincoln. i can't remember the man's name, but he's buried next to his wife and son, and the man's gravesite has his gloves and sword as part of his headstone

A great view of the city from one of it's "silent communities".

Eating on Almeda

"You can call me Cowboy. I come here every day -- and twice on weekends. I drive all the way up from Clear Lake for this.. the best fried chicken in town. It can't be beat."
