Northern Ireland Memoirs: Part One

author: Jamie : Lisnaskea, Northern Ireland

image
Enough time has passed for me to look back on my time in without sentiment. It is tempting in retrospect for ones recollections to take on a certain floral tone; which is perhaps the reason my photographic record of this period is almost entirely monochromatic. The term Ulster, is somewhat politically incorrect. Historically referring to the northern-most province of which existed before British rule, It nowadays more commonly refers to the six counties in the North of Ireland which remain a part of the United Kingdom, officially and internationally known as . But this is not a history...

Peterborough Electric Tramways

author: Jamie : Peterborough, UK

image
Peterborough's s lasted from 1903 to 1930. Below is an early photograph of Long Causeway from a postmarked 1905. Tram number 6 was one of the original batch of twelve built by Brush of Loughborough. This photograph taken on Long Causeway in 1929, was taken not long before Peterborough Electric Tramways abandoned its three tram routes. The bus in this picture would have been on a connecting service, also operated by the tramway company. This 1950's shot at Peterborough bus station shows AEC Regal BCT 432 of W.H. Patch's Cream Service on the Stamford via Wittering route.

TLP Freehand/Paste-Ups

author: Jamie : London, UK

() love to get up their strikingly simple Lads motif wherever they can, and in whatever format suits. You're as likely to find a giant in as you are a marker pen drawing in . Here's some spotted in London... This huge pasteup, high up on a wall in Old Street TLP often draw their characters freehand directly onto walls like this one in and this freehand masterpiece just off Carnaby Street
