James Walker Park New York City. Prior to 1898, The land that the park is located on was the site of Saint Johns Cemetery. When the city took the site for use as a city park, about 200 graves were relocated to Trinity Cemetery in upper Manhattan, the remaining 10,000 or so graves were mapped then covered with top soil and the park was built over them. This monument was dedicated to 2 members of Eagle Engine Co. 13 who died in 1834. It is uncertain if their bodies were relocated.

Below are some photos I took of some former movie theater locations located on Southern Blvd (or very close) in Bronx New York. With dozens of theaters located in and around this area, it must have been an entertainment mecca. Some blocks had several large theaters. Today, just the shells remain. 1. Art Theater 1077 Southern Blvd Bronx now a church 2. Loew's Spooner 961 Southern Blvd Bronx 1913-1970 3. Loews Boulevard 1032 Southern Blvd Bronx 1913-70s 4. Freeman Theater 1240 Southern Blvd Bronx 1921-1972 5. Radio Theater 1348 Southern Blvd Bronx AKA Royal Photoplays, Bronx Playhouse 1917-1940s 6. Dover Theater 1729 Boston Road Bronx 1930s-1980s
